Let’s continue with Sicily Inside Out Project landing in Ortigia, Syracuse (you can find here my travel photography about Ortigia) at Casa Sabir, Anime a Sud.
The early 20th century apartment is located in the market area of Ortigia, the ancient area of Syracuse, an island and the historical center of the city.
The restoring project, led by the artist and owner Luca Giannini, wanted the maintain the original elements introducing shapes and materials linked to culture and tradition of the territory.
Minimalism and sustainability are the keywords of the entire process and in harmony with my interior photography style.
Simple lines, modern furniture and original sections were studied to exalt the original walls and floor details and the new design elements.
Luca’s artworks all over the apartment give the final artistic touch with their ethereal and deeply soul.
The balconies lookout to the ancient Ortigia Market with its picturesque and folkloristic people.
Ancient and Modern, tradition and design, minimal and baroque are the melting pot of lines and shapes, brights and darks, lights and shadows.
The research of lights and shadows, essential and details moves my interior photography approach.
